In The News This Week:
September 1 ... Bristol's 5-0 win over Tegville was spearheaded by Jaime Vélez, who blanked the Falcons on 5 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. "I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." September 7 ... Today the Silverhawks downed the Inferno 6-5 as Héctor Vargas sprayed hits all over Stanley Coveleski Field in a 6-hit explosion. The Earlton right fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." In the 2010 season Vargas is hitting .304 with 24 home runs...
September 7 ... Juan Moreno has to call it a season. The Delphi Pythons third baseman sustained a season-ending injury against the Belfont Captains and will not play again this year according to club doctors. His doctors diagnosed it as a dislocated shoulder and stated that he would not be able to play for 7 weeks. This season Moreno is batting .374 with 6 home runs...
September 8 ... Víctor Falquero of the Langley Cougars was really in the zone as he mowed down the McConnellville hitters 5-0 in a sterling mound performance. Falquero shut down the McConnellville Turtle-Monkeys, blanking them on 2 hits while registering 3 strikeouts and 1 walk. This season Falquero has registered 14 wins and 12 losses in 32 starts with a 2.81 ERA...

The Rivercats closer suffered the injury throwing a pitch. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery. This year Rodríguez has delivered 35 saves. In 54 relief appearances, he has 60 strikeouts in 53.2 innings with a 1.51 ERA. His season won-lost mark is 4-2...
September 10 ... Baseball officials have suspended two players for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct" in yesterday's Harahan-Delphi contest at Blue Rock Stadium. The Infernos Garfield Leonard and the Pythons Bill Oakes will have to sit out 8 games for their part in the brawl. Leonard's current batting average stands at .262 and he has chalked up 16 home runs and 70 RBIs. To date this season, Oakes has a record of 11 wins and 9 losses and a 3.85 ERA. He has appeared in 30 games and struck out 138 in 177.2 innings...
September 10 ... Alfonso Green will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and stated the Linktoria shortstop could miss the remainder of the year. Green was injured while throwing the ball in the Reds-Silverhawks clash at Riverfront Stadium recently. Doctors said he has a strained rotator cuff muscle and would be out a minimum of 4 weeks. This year Green is batting .272 with 36 home runs and 102 RBIs. In 143 games he has scored 81 times...

Probably because the upload crapped out halfway through. I think it reuses gameids so the link would have sent you to one of last year's games.
Fingers crossed it works this time then Wink

September 14 ... The Regals piled on 11 11th-inning runs to beat the Bishops 13-5 at Rittenberg Field, keyed by Ernesto Sánchez's Grand Slam. The Regals right fielder also hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 10th and finished his day with the big fly off P. Pagán in the 11th to go 5-6. Sánchez is hitting .359 in 2010 with 8 home runs, 77 RBIs and 94 runs scored. He has 181 hits in 504 at-bats and played in 125 games...

Gil was incensed in the loss to Municipality Matrix and was just as angry after the game. Now Gil must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that Gil has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Club officials told BNN they did not expect him to return to the team this season. This season Campos has compiled a 14-11 record with a 3.71 ERA in 34 starts...
September 16 ... Gonzalo Morán of the Ravens was unstoppable in today's 14-2 victory over the Fortuna Keys at Vesper Field. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. In The News This Fortnight:
September 20 ... The Winchester Dragons clubhouse was subdued this afternoon after Dwayne White was seriously injured running the bases during the game against the Jenress Skydrakar. White was taken to a local hospital for examination. This morning, doctors confirmed the preliminary diagnosis of a torn ankle ligaments. They said White will undergo surgery in the near future, and will require extensive rehabilitation. For all intents and purposes, his career in baseball is over. In 140 games this season White is batting .274 with 145 hits and 24 home runs. He has scored 87 runs and driven in 89...
September 20 ... Yoshimune Yamamoto will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. This year Yamamoto is batting .308 with 14 home runs and 58 RBIs. In 104 games he has scored 78 times...
September 21 ... It is unknown at this time if there is any truth to the rumour that Berkeley-Cambridge's Yuji Matsuoka has asked his team for a trade. Insiders indicate the right fielder may not be happy with the club management. So far, the team's owners have refused to comment...

September 23 ... Is Víctor Falquero going to tough it out and play through an injury? We'll get the chance to find out in the next 1-2 weeks as the outstanding Langley starting pitcher attempts to shrug off a finger blister he sustained throwing a pitch against the Berkeley-Cambridge Brigade. Whether the management lets him play or handles him with kid gloves will depend mostly on how Falquero feels on a day-to-day basis. But there's little doubt that the Langley Cougars will be happy for the talented player to return at full strength as soon as possible. In 35 starts this year Falquero has a 15-12 record and a 2.69 ERA...
September 23 ... On top of the Algona hit parade today was Len Galloway. He went to the plate 6 times and tagged 5 hits, but it was Liberty City that marched off with the 6-4 win. This season Galloway is batting .300 with 105 RBIs, 109 runs scored and 41 home runs...

To date in the 2010 season, Lee has saved 2 games while tossing 78.1 innings. He has a 4.94 ERA, fanned 55 batters and made 69 relief appearances...
