I think they'll probably come back in 5-10 years, records have. Well at least in the UK anyway, go into any Music shop and they'll have a records section.

Yeah, the music shops will try to cling onto it for as long as they can. Then it'll be DVDs, then Games.

I think it is already dying out, in Australia, the level to reach Gold certification is 35,000 sales and 70,000 for platinum

CDs? Yeah, they are.... iTunes is the number 1 music store in the US, even including stuff like WalMart. That's huge.

So? My new computer has 1tb of storage, 5gb is so little in the grand scheme of things.

It's still a big whack of space I could be using for... other things (and I trump your 1tb with the 1.8tb or so sitting behind my screen!)

When I was only about 7 years old, I have heard of MB. (i'm currently 15 going on 16)
When I entered secondary school (13 yrs old), I have heard of GB.
And only like about 3 days ago, I have heard of TB.

What's next, PB (petabyte)?

How amazing technology has changed within a decade.

Soon, by the time I passed away, I think we would have God-only-knows-how-many-millions-petapetapetapetabytes.
