Re: The Duck's new court
Compared to the court that arena looks lame wacky
and Lousiville will not see a major-pro franchise especially NBA the NBA looks for markets that'll draw better
btw the bonus toss up for anyone who knows where the company that made the court is located

Re: The Duck's new court
Yeah Kansas city can't get an NBA team and we're Twice the size of Loisville with a world class arena and a pretty good basketball fan base.

Re: The Duck's new court
Wacky College BBall and Pro BBall are 2 separate things, If it was the same There would be more teams in the Carolinas and Charlotte would do better attendance wise in fact the Hornets wouldn't have left. Also KC would have a team, etc.... etc.....
Also as to KC I don't know if it's the Royals fault but no pro sports league wants to touch that market anymore lol. That brand new Arena is stunning and it's a great city NHL/NBA would be great there.
also yup Amasa Michigan is where the Floor is from in fact a good percentage of the NCAA and almost all of the NBA come from Amasa,MI

Re: The Duck's new court
Seattle lost their Sonics due to Howard Schultz, Clay Bennett (EVIL!) and David Stern (MOAR EVIL!).

Re: The Duck's new court
The court looks really cool, I have to say. I still wonder about Eastern washington's red turf.
But still very unique!

LOL Royals
Anyway, Wacky, we have this (below) Arena, and have yet to get any pro teams for it to house.
And it was finished in 2007, and basketball has a following here too, ever heard of the Jayhawks? But as Canuck said NBA is different than College, so it's hard to tell, but KC has had an NBA Franchise before. I hope a team comes here soon though, it's a shame this Arena sets empty and I have no hockey or NBA team to cheer for.

Re: The Duck's new court
I agree, KC does need a NHL/NBA team. But Louisville is also in line waiting for the NBA team. KC and Louisville will get an NBA within the next 3 years.
BTW, Jayhawks, uh oh, my dad's a Mizzou graduate. But, I'm a Louisville fan, please don't hate for saying that.

Re: The Duck's new court
Seattle, thats another city I forgot, may need to build a new arena, then they'll come
Re: The Duck's new court
We built one in Kent, ShoWare Arena...but I'd rather have a Microsoft Arena on the Eastside.

Re: The Duck's new court
ok harsh realities here
What exactly is the draw for the Lou?
KC has some viable businesses but that's even hard to sell
Seattle well they have some great businesses but the loss of the Sonics is gonna take a while to get over. Look at cities that had franchises and then lost them then regained em
Atlanta Flames 1972-1980-Moved to Calgary. Atlanta regained NHL Hockey in 1999
Quebec Nordiques 1979-1995(well 1972-1995) Moved to Colorado.Quebec has still yet to regain it's franchise
Winnepeg Jets 1972-1996 moved to Phoenix. Still no new club
Hartford Whalers 1972-1997 moved to Carolina. Still no new club
KC Scouts- 1974-1976 Moved to Colorado
Colorado Rockies 1976-1982-Moved to New Jersey, Colorado regained a team in 1996
Minnesota North Stars 1967-1993- Moved to Dallas, Minnesota regained NHL hockey in 2000
Minneapolis Lakes- 1947-1960-Moved to LA is LA really the land of 10,000 lakes?
ok I could go on forever lol
read up on em all

Re: The Duck's new court
Seattle doesn't need an NBA team, you just lost it It's time you suffer a bit Bruce, after all, you have the seahawks, mariners, and sounders. Portland didn't have anybody but the blazers until this year (timbers). I do agree that KC should get one.
Also canuck I still am pretty confused by the Los Angeles Lakers having such an oddball name (for their location)
Do we need a new topic for this?
